Yesterday GSK announced the forthcoming launch of CancerTrialsApp – touted as “the first free geolocating cancer clinical trials application” for the iPhone and iPad. Last week Pfizer also announced they are developing an app that allows easy communication between the company and healthcare professionals. Continuing medical education: GSK policy change
Thursday, September 24th, 2009This week GSK announced an overhaul to its medical education programme: GSK CME will now be led by programs run by national professional medical associations or teaching hospitals, instead of commercial med-ed and communication companies. While other companies have adopted similar policies ahead of GSK, this latest move still poses some interesting questions for the reputation of medical education overall.
